NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country music star Jelly Roll has confirmed he has lost 200 pounds as he continues his public weight-loss journey, with a goal of shedding another 50. The Nashville native, a lifelong fan of the Tennessee Titans, shared his latest health milestone during a motivational speech to the NFL team at their training camp.
"I lost 200 pounds. I told Coach I'm getting a contract if I lose another 50," the 40-year-old singer of "Save Me" said to applause from the players and staff in a video shared on X.
Jelly Roll, who began his health journey in December 2022, has been consistently open about his progress. In April, he revealed he had lost 183 pounds, stating he started at 540 pounds and weighed 357 pounds at the time. "I'm going to lose another 100 pounds and go skydiving with my wife!" he declared at the time.
In a past interview, the artist admitted that his biggest challenge has been with food addiction, which he has compared to his past struggles with substance abuse. "If you're really battling obesity, you got to start at the dinner table," he said. "The battle was with the food addiction, changing the way I’ve looked at food for the last 39 years."
In a December 2024 episode of his wife Bunnie Xo's "Dumb Blonde" podcast, Jelly Roll explained that he chose to be public about his transformation to help others. "I wanted to lose it in front of everybody," he said. "I wanted to talk about it... I want to bring people along with me." He also revealed his ambitious new goal: to be on the cover of Men's Health by March 2026.
Jelly Roll's weight loss strategy has involved consistent effort, including walking, playing basketball, boxing, and a balanced diet with healthier versions of his favorite foods. His trainer noted that he had passed the 100-pound weight-loss mark in October 2024.
