After a nail-biter vote in the Senate, the House is taking up President Donald Trump's giant tax and immigration bill. It's expected to face some issues, especially among fiscal hawks as the Senate version is projected to add roughly $1 trillion more to the deficit than what the House passed back in May.
And that's not the only problem -- Speaker Mike Johnson said Tuesday evening that there might be an attendance problem in the House as a number of members were having problems getting back to Washington after more than 1,200 flights were canceled or delayed across the country because of storms in the eastern U.S.
Johnson said Tuesday night that he expects a vote in the House Wednesday or Thursday "at latest."
Meanwhile, Trump said on social media Tuesday that Israel agreed to the "necessary conditions" for a 60-day ceasefire with Hamas and awaits its reply.
